DCSN has several therapy departments including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy to benefit our students.
Our Physiotherapists conduct complete assessments and use them to create individualized programs suited to each student's strengths and needs. Assessments include observing balance, coordination, physical positioning throughout the day, joint range of movement and muscle strength. Depending on the student's specific strengths the physiotherapist will determine whether specialized equipment is necessary. The physiotherapist continues to work with children and their families to improve physical independence.
Occupational Therapists work with students that have learning disorders and developmental delay. Our certified occupational therapists consult with each student's family to identify goals and strategies to meet individual needs in everyday life at home, school and within the community.
Speech and Language
The ability to communicate is essential in every aspect of life. Our Speech Therapists assess, diagnose and provide exceptional therapy for students with speech and language difficulties. These may include stuttering or stammering, voice disorders, hearing impairment, delayed language development and aphasia.
DCSN therapists work with the student’s family to help them augment their ability to communicate effectively in all aspects of daily life, including strengthening social language skills.
A physician and pediatric nurse are on site at all times to provide medical and nutritional guidance, which is crucial to the students' all round development and provides for an early detection of problems.
